Allahabad

Allahabad (About this sound listen), local Hindustani pronunciation, or Prayag , is a large metropolitan city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and the administrative headquarters of Allahabad District, the most populated district in the state and 13th most populated district in India and the Allahabad Division. The city is the judicial capital of Uttar Pradesh with Allahabad High Court being the highest judicial body in the state. As of 2011, Allahabad is the seventh most populated city in the state, twelfth in the Northern India and thirty-sixth in India, with an estimated population of 1.11 million in the city and 1.21 million in its metropolitan region. In 2011 it was ranked the world's 40th fastest-growing city. Allahabad, in 2016, was ranked the third most liveable city in the state (after Noida and Lucknow) and sixteen in the country.

Ayodhya

Ayodhya (About this sound listen , also known as Saketa), is an ancient city of India, believed to be the birth place of Rama and setting of the epic Ramayana. It is adjacent to Faizabad city in the central region of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Ayodhya used to be the capital of the ancient Kosala Kingdom. It has an average elevation of 93 meters (305 feet). Owing to the belief as the birth place of Rama, Ayodhya (Awadh) has been regarded as one of the seven most important pilgrimage sites (Saptapuri) for Hindus. It is believed that the birth spot of Rama was marked by a temple, which was demolished by the orders of the Mughal emperor Babar and a mosque erected in its place. The Ayodhya dispute concerns the activism by the Hindu groups to rebuild a Rama's temple at the site.

Gaya

Gaya is a city of ancient historical and mythological significance. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Bihar. Gaya is the 2nd largest city of Bihar, with a population of 470,839, and is also the headquarters of Gaya district and Magadh division. Gaya is 100 kilometres (62 mi) south of Patna, the capital city of Bihar. Situated on the banks of the Phalgu River (or Niranjana, as mentioned in Ramayana), it is a place sanctified by the Jain, Hindu, and Buddhist religions. It is surrounded by small rocky hills (Mangla-Gauri, Shringa-Sthan, Ram-Shila and Brahmayoni) by three sides and the river flowing on the fourth (eastern) side. The city has a mix of natural surroundings, age old buildings, green areas and narrow by lanes.

Naimisaranyam

Naimisaranyam, also known as Neemsar, Nimsar or Nimkhar is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu located in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu revered in Nalayira Divya Prabandham by the 12 poet saints or Alwars. The temple is believed to be of significant antiquity with contributions at different times from the ruling kings. The temple is counted as one of the eight temples of Vishnu that self-manifested and is classified as Swayam Vyakta Kshetras. The temple is open till 6pm. The holy tank Chankra Kunda is associated with the temple and it is a pilgrimage centre where people take a holy dip during festive occasions.

Vindhyachal

Vindhyachal is located in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. The city is a Hindu pilgrimage site having the temple of Vindhyavasini, who according to Markandeya Purana had incarnated to kill the demon Mahishasura. The detailed description has been given in 'Durga Saptashati' Chapter of Markandeya Purana. The river Ganga flows through this city. The Indian Standard Time (IST) line passes through the Vindhyachal Railway Station.

Chunar Fort

Chunar fort is a very famous for its natural beauty, historical events, handicrafts, industrial set-ups and from the religious aspects as well. Chunar owes its importance from the time immemorial as tradition assigns a high antiquity to the fort of Chunar. The fort is a solid structure that stands on a rock, a detached part of the Vindhya Range was built on a commanding position. Due to the steep slope, the rocky fort is practically impregnable Many crude cylinders were stored in the fort area to roll them down over any army of enemy soldiers attacking the fort. This is probably why it survived attacks over the years. Most of the enclosed fort area consists of plains overgrown with grass and a few trees. The approach to Chunar hill is marked by a chain of low hills, running parallel to the river on its right bank, which is covered by plantations and bungalows.
